Sterling Allen

Executive Committee, External Relations Committee Chair, Development Committee

Raised in Athena, OR, Sterling was a 4-H member in his youth showing lambs and steers at shows in Umatilla County. Later, him and his wife became leaders of a livestock project club in Pendleton. Sterling has been a trustee for the Oregon 4-H Foundation for 15 years and enjoys the opportunity of making a difference promoting 4-H throughout the state. He graduated from OSU with a degree in Agricultural Economics. He worked 20 years as an agricultural lender and for the past 24 years has owned/published an agricultural newspaper, AGRITIMES NW. Sterling was a past president of the Crook County Cattlemen’s Association, has received the Voice of the Industry Award from the Oregon Wheat Growers Association, is member of the Pendleton Rotary club, is active in the Walla Walla Presbyterian church, and an alumni President of Sigma Nu fraternity. We encouraged our kids to graduate from Oregon State University, and they both have young families and successful careers.
