Melinda Garcia

Lane County 4-H Program Representative

Dr. Melinda Garcia has 22 years of youth development experience which includes: 4-H Youth Development programs at Oregon State University and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, teaching, and working as a YMCA site director, the majority of which were in San Antonio, Texas. She can be found encouraging families to engage in 4-H programming, especially minorities. She is an advocate for diversity, equity, access, and inclusion and she is on committees on state and national levels to help with this cause. When she is not at work, she can be found hiking, watching movies, working on jigsaw puzzles, or writing poetry. Dr. Garcia graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University with a B.A. in Sociology and earned her Master’s in Business Administration from University of Phoenix. She reached the pinnacle in education when she earned her doctorate, from Our Lady of the Lake University, in Organizational Leadership.
