Kristopher Elliott

Interim OSU Vice Provost for Extension & Engagement

Dr. Elliott provides executive leadership for the OSU Extension Service (OES) within the division of Extension and Engagement and works closely with the Associate Vice Provost for Engagement and Associate Vice Provost for Partnerships. Kris has administrative responsibility for OES operations, strategic plan implementation, program of work, OES budget in collaboration with the Executive Director of Fiscal Operations and Director of Extension, human resources, and OES evaluation, reporting, and sponsored programs. Dr. Elliott also leads central administration staffing, creation, onboarding, and development; and improvement and revisions to OES rules and procedures. Additionally, he helps support county level operations and engagement with elected officials, stakeholders, and community partners.

In his previous OES role, Dr. Elliott led the development and operation of the statewide Outdoor School Program, which served over 117,000 students in the first 4 years of operation. Kris earned his Ph.D. in Science Education from Oregon State University in 2014 and received his M.S. and B.S. degrees in Agricultural Sciences from Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo. Prior to his graduate studies at OSU, Kris served as a high school agricultural science instructor for nine years. Upon graduating from OSU with his doctorate, Kris served as an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Education at the University of Georgia, with an extension appointment in urban agriculture. Kris has also served in public school administration, serving as the Director of STEM for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.
