Kelly Simonson

4-H Program Representative—Douglas County

Kelly Simonson’s roots in agriculture and youth leadership run deep. Raised on a ranch in Montana, she was an active 4-H member from 6th through 12th grade before moving to Oregon her junior year of high school. After graduation, she had the unique opportunity to spend a month in Siberia with FFA, broadening her global perspective on agriculture and youth programs. Years later, she supported her own three children as they grew through 4-H and served as a club leader for two years, giving back to the program that shaped her.

Kelly earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Northwest Christian University and her Master’s in Secondary Education from the University of Southern California. Before joining Oregon State University Extension as the 4-H Program Coordinator in Douglas County, she dedicated 15 years to teaching and coaching athletics, helping young people grow in both the classroom and on the field. Now in her third year as coordinator, she brings together her background as an educator, leader, and lifelong 4-Her to create meaningful opportunities for local youth. Kelly is passionate about helping young people develop confidence, leadership, and resilience while carrying forward the strong traditions of 4-H.
