Gary Roth

Trustee

Gary Roth serves as Executive Director of the Oregon Potato Commission, where he leads efforts to support Oregon’s potato industry through research, marketing, education, and market development. A lifelong advocate for agriculture, Gary brings more than three decades of experience in agricultural marketing, international trade, business development, and public policy.

Raised on his family’s farm in Scappoose, Oregon, Gary earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics from Oregon State University’s Honors College, graduating magna cum laude. He also holds a graduate certificate in International Agribusiness from the University of Bradford in England.

Throughout his career, Gary has served in leadership roles with the Oregon Department of Agriculture, Oregon Farm Bureau, and private-sector business development firms. He has worked extensively to strengthen Oregon agriculture through domestic and international market expansion, industry partnerships, and legislative advocacy. Gary has also served on numerous agricultural and food industry boards and committees throughout Oregon.

As a member of the Oregon 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees, Gary is committed to supporting programs that help young people develop leadership skills, explore career opportunities, and build lifelong connections to agriculture, natural resources, and their communities.
