Bill a resident of Linn County has been involved with 4-H since the age of 9 (66 years) as a member, Junior Leader, National 4-H Congress participant, and collegiate 4-H member. He participated in the International Farm Youth Exchange (IFYE), traveling to Germany, and went on to build a career in Extension, serving as a 4-H agent in Benton, Baker, and Coos counties, with later work in the 4-H office at Cornell University. He earned his undergraduate degree in Agricultural Education from OSU and a master’s degree from Washington State University. His wife, also a 4-H agent and IFYE participant, met him through 4-H. Rooted in his upbringing on a family farm in Albany, he has remained committed to youth and community, supporting international 4-H exchange programs in Linn County, various OSU youth education programs and the Albany Regional Museum prior to and following retirement.
