A message from the Executive Director
2026 Spring Newsletter
As I celebrated my one-year work anniversary of joining the OSU Foundation and getting the pleasure to work with the Oregon 4-H Foundation, I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had in this role as director of development/executive director. 4-H has always held a special place in my heart and getting to celebrate the success of the program across this beautiful state of Oregon has been absolutely incredible.
As we wrapped up our third quarter at the Foundation, I’m pleased to share that the 4‑H Youth Development Program has met its fiscal year fundraising goal. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, $1.7 million has been raised toward our $1.5 million goal.
The OSU Foundation’s Believe It fundraising and engagement campaign is scheduled to run through June 30, 2027. To date, donors have contributed $20.2 million toward the campaign’s $25 million goal. THANK YOU!
As mentioned above, one of our key strategies to help meet these benchmarks is to secure general‑use endowments for every county 4‑H program in Oregon. We have 25 counties to go!
Do you want to chat about helping your county get on the list? Reach out to me. I would love to grab coffee when I am in your area or set up a call!
Sincerely,
NICOLE SCHROCK

2025 Fall Newsletter
Meet our new Executive Director
Greetings All!!
My name is Nicole Schrock, and I am excited to have taken the reins as the new Oregon 4-H Executive Director and Director of Development at the Oregon State University Foundation, starting last March. A lifelong supporter of 4-H, I participated in numerous facets of the program throughout my childhood in Benton County. I am honored to be returning to the 4-H community and am looking forward to engaging with donors and philanthropic supporters moving forward!
Our fiscal year runs July 1 through June 30. In FY25, we raised just shy of $200,000. For the university’s Believe It campaign (which is active from 2017 through 2027), we have raised nearly $19 million of our $25 million goal.
Some of our goals that will aid us in meeting our benchmarks include building general use endowments for 4-H in every Oregon county. Currently, 11 counties have these types of endowments that generate a steady, reliable stream of spendable resources for a versatile list of needs: program support, award funding and scholarships, to name a few. With 36 counties in Oregon, that gives us plenty of room for growth as we look for ways to continue to support 4-H across our great state.
The minimum gift required to start an endowed fund is $50,000. Each year, a portion of the fund’s balance (currently 4%) is transferred to support the program chosen by the donor. The core of the fund remains invested for long-term growth. Endowments will continue to give back to 4-H and 4-H communities indefinitely. They truly are the gift that keeps on giving, for those interested in long term program support!
If you live in Oregon and would like to grab a coffee, I would greatly enjoy getting to tell you more about our goals in person. Reach out to me (Nicole.Schrock@osufoundation.org) to find out when I will be traveling through your area, and we can set up a meeting!
