Tayleur Baker

Oregon 4-H’er Selected as Runner Up for National 4-H Award

Burns, Ore. (September 15, 2025) – National 4-H Council announced today that Tayleur Baker of Burns, Oregon is a runner up for the 4-H Youth in Action Award. Baker is recognized nationally for her servant leadership, impact on her community, and dedication to agriculture.

Despite her nervousness as a child, Baker (20), found belonging and confidence through her 4-H mentor’s encouragement of her in the livestock ring. Through her club, Baker explored opportunities leading to the development of life skills and passion for both public speaking and swine showing.  Combining her newfound passions, Baker created community swine showing clinics and resources to spread awareness and opportunity for other students to learn the work and skills necessary to successfully raise and show swine. She has gone on to complete an extension internship and hopes to explore agricultural advocacy as a future career path.

The 4-H Youth in Action Awards began in 2010 to recognize 4-H’ers who have used the knowledge they gained in 4-H to create a lasting impact in their community. To learn more about the 4-H Youth in Action program and the 2025 runners up,
